Khairkum Association is a leading organization among Qur’an memorization associations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its journey began on 25/12/1396 AH, initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saleh Baharith, along with a group of prominent figures and business leaders from Jeddah, to operate as a branch of the Charitable Association for Qur’an Memorization in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The association later obtained license number (9) issued pursuant to Resolution No. (23) by the Secretariat of Charitable Qur’an Memorization Associations during its first founding session held on 7/5/1403 AH, under the supervision of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University. In 1414 AH, the General Secretariat of Charitable Associations was transferred to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and a registration certificate was issued by the Ministry under number (2/2) dated 29/11/1416 AH. Subsequently, administrative supervision of the association was transferred to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development on 29/06/1441 AH under authorization number (3409), in accordance with the Law of Associations and Foundations issued by Royal Decree No. (M/8) dated 19/02/1437 AH. Supervision was later transferred to the National Center for Non-Profit Development pursuant to Council of Ministers Resolution No. (618) dated 20/10/1442 AH. In 2023, the association’s name was changed to Khairkum Association for Teaching and Memorizing the Qur’an in the Makkah Region, expanding its scope to cover all governorates within the region.
